Barbara established BY Projects Architecture in 2009, after some 20 years as a Principle Architect and Director with Walker and Yerondais Architectural Partnership. With extensive Architectural and Project Management experience in designing and managing projects for both the private and public sectors. Barbara’s experience and knowledge lies in her ability to lead any project through all stages of delivery. Barbara has successfully delivered projects of all scales, from the smallest of residential and commercial renovations to master planning of substantial residential developments.
Barbara has a special interest in social inclusion and social housing, working on multiple public housing developments, as well as participating and presenting in seminars on Affordable Housing.
Barbara is actively involved in the architectural community, particularly in education and mentorship. She previously held lecturer's positions at the RMIT and is currently lecturing at the University of Melbourne in Construction, Project Planning and Property; is regularly invited as a guest critic and is formally involved as a mentor to young women in architecture through the Australian Institute of Architects. She is also active in social service and has been awarded a Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary International for services to the community.

Nurul joined BY Projects Architecture in 2010, and is a registered Architect. A graduate from the University of Tasmania with a Masters of Architecture, Nurul gained valuable experience through working abroad in Singapore, both in residential and hospitality projects prior to joining BY Projects. Nurul shares a great passion for problem solving & sustainability through her experiences. She embraces efficient time management both in and out of the office and demonstrates strong design sensibilities to her projects.
Dedicated and thorough, Nurul combines a progressive and collaborative approach with each client to meet their needs whilst bringing a playful nature to the projects she undertakes. Her key strength lies in nurturing relationships.

Howard started working with BY Project Architecture early in 2014, after graduating from The University of Melbourne with a Master of Architecture Degree (1st Class Honours). Being a Graduate Architect in this firm is pretty hands on. He is expected to pay great attention to details when it comes to drawing and modelling. Howard has gained enough experience to allow him to manage different projects with minimal supervision. Howard aims to be registered by the end of 2017.
BY Projects Architecture specialises in different scopes of work and field. We range from Addition and Alteration to a Residence to Multi-Unit Apartments, Age Care Facility, Childcare, Commercial and Retail. With Howard’s personal attributes, architecture knowledge and computer skills, he specialises in renovation and multi-unit residential projects.
At BY Projects Architecture, we believe that communication and collaboration are the key to a successful project. Howard utilises his multilingual skills to help and communicate with our clients with different backgrounds. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu.
