This single level brick veneer home is typical of 1980s suburban subdivision. The overall structure was still in good condition, but looking tired, worn out and very dark and dreary.
We had previously assisted these clients with additions to their holiday retreat and they were now looking for something different at home.
Our clients were planning for retirement in the not-too-distant future and wanting a renovation to reflect their new empty nester lifestyle. The immediate challenge was the work from home requirements the pandemic had planted on us all – and how to live through working from home whilst renovating.
The desired outcome was for renovations to all service areas and to give the whole house a general uplift.
The outcome is remarkable. Without structural changes we proposed renovations to bathrooms and kitchen which enhanced the timber feel the home already. The spaces feel bigger, and storage areas are improved. New Australian hardwood timber flooring and choosing the right white finish has transformed the house into a light and airy home.
