The nature of bathroom design in Melbourne depends, like that of the kitchen design and the living space, on the kind of people who are going to be living there. What suits a boisterous young family is not going to be ideal for retirees, while carefree couples in their 20s and 30s have the potential to turn into that young family. The bathroom is, then, far from being a one-size-fits-all subject.
See What Our Portfolio Look Like
Look at the How We Work page, and you will learn about how we approach a project, gaining a clear understanding of the client’s needs and wishes before taking as much weight off their shoulders as we can in terms of planning and getting through the bureaucratic element.
Under “Portfolio” you will see the sheer diversity of some of our favourite completed jobs. We think you will agree there is a variety that suggests we can work successfully with you to get the style, tone and facilities right.
Sustainability is Our Watchword
It is the responsibility of our architects in Melbourne to try to steer a new project down an ethically and ecologically sound path. All decisions are ultimately down to the client, but we will point out how things can be achieved with minimal impact on the environment. Paying attention to the points of the compass and the prevailing wind, for instance, can influence ventilation and temperature control, while using recycled or repurposed materials is fast becoming regarded as sheer common sense.
Regarding bathrooms, recent decades have seen an almost total switch from baths to showers, for reasons of convenience (initially) and then architecture sustainability considerations (it eventually dawned on everyone that showers use less water, a precious resource that can no longer be taken for granted). Everyone likes to do their bit in this respect, and when you add electric power costs into the equation, it is no surprise that the once omnipotent “power shower” has been thoroughly challenged by the gentle charms of the “waterfall” or “rainwater” variety.
Happily, many of these examples of ecological awareness come with the added benefit of lower fuel and utility bills.
